National Women’s League (NWL) newcomers, Kumasi Sports Academy Ladies FC, could cause the biggest upset of the season if they beat leaders, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, in their epoch Match Day Nine to be played this weekend.

The two sides are separated by just a point in the northern zone, and their clash at the Prempeh College Park on Sunday could define their final positions on the league table of the northern zone.

Despite being debutants, Sports Academy Ladies have given good accounts of themselves and have not lost at home yet, a record they would want to keep when they welcome the champions.

While a draw in this cagey game will be safe for Ampem Darkoa, to hold on to their lead with 20 points, a loss will see Sports Academy, closely following with 19 points, overtake them at the top.

Another top liner for the weekend is the Lady Strikers versus Immigration Ladies game at the Cape Coast Robert Mensah Stadium tomorrow.

The two sides are closely pursuing the southern zone leaders, Sea Lions, and the result will greatly enhance their chances.

With the Sanford Women’s FA Cup dream over for Lady Strikers, their focus is now on the NWL and they know what they have to do if they are to move from their current third position with 13 points.

Immigration, who have experienced a complete turnaround in form this season, are perched at second position with 14 points and also have their sights set on a double and will do anything to realise their dream.

The outcome of this game will to a large extent, decide how the season will end for both sides.

The southern zone leaders will also have a tough game to deal with when they visit Samaria Ladies at the Nungua Town Park on Sunday.

In other matches, Hasaacas Ladies host Police Ladies tomorrow, Holy Royals host Soccer Intellectuals tomorrow, Northern Ladies host Ashtown Ladies tomorrow, Prisons Ladies are hosts to Real Upper Ladies tomorrow, while Fabulous Ladies host Lepo Ladies on Sunday.
